Position Description

Michels Corporation, a national utility contractor based in Brownsville, WI, has an opportunity for a Heavy Civil Excavation Construction Estimator for their Drilled Foundations division.  Position duties include preparing job estimates and bids, developing job schedules and forecasts, tracking project budget to actual comparisons, completing take-offs, site reviews, and customer interactions related to the project.  This position requires travel nationwide up to 25% of the time for jobsite visits, pre-bids meetings, pre-construction meetings, project start ups, troubleshooting, and normal project management as required.   
 
Applicants must possess a B.S. in Civil Engineering or equivalent degree; with at least five years of estimating experience related to heavy/civil earthwork as well as project management background. Industry experience within the D.O.T, Wind Energy, or site development sectors is beneficial.  Qualified candidates will also have intermediate skills in MS Office and Trimble Pay Dirt Software or other similar, strong attention to detail, ability to work in a fast paced environment, and survey knowledge.  Excellent customer service and oral, written, and negotiation communication skills are required.  Additional utility construction experience is beneficial, but not necessary.
