Brief Description
 
The Gear Manufacturing Engineer role will be integral to the success of daily operations and key initiatives at the Rexnord Gear facility on Canal Street in Milwaukee, WI.
 
 
Key Accountabilities
 

• Responsible for process planning, process drawings, tool design, cutting tool selection, procurement & management, material specification knowledge, part & process documentation management, ECN & Standards, management, CNC programming and project work.
• Equipment justification and procurement also required.
• Demonstrate a commitment to safety, quality, productivity, cost effectiveness, and on-time delivery.
• Support Rexnord Business System (lean manufacturing / continuous improvement) implementation and kaizen activity where applicable.
• Candidate will need to possess strong organizational, analytical and motivational skills along with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced, metrics-driven performance-based environment directed toward stretch goals.

 
 
Job Requirements
 

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering required.
• Previous experience in an engineering capacity within a manufacturing environment is required.
• Demonstrated experience with Lean toolsimplementation is required– prefer 3 years or more of experience.
• Computer proficiency in MS Office.

 
 
Desirable Experience, Capabilities and Success Factors
 

• Previous experience with gear design, gear manufacturing, and/or gear standards (AGMA and/or ISO) is highly preferred
• Prior experience within the gear manufacturing industry or power transmission industry
• Strong project management skills.
• Excellent communication/interpersonal skills.
• Candidate will need to possess strong organizational, analytical and motivational skills along with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced, metrics-driven performance-based environment directed toward stretch goals.

Business Unit
