Hitachi Energy is seeking a Localization Program Manager for North America Grid Integration Business Unit. The Grid Integration business is experiencing tremendous growth in EV charging systems, high voltage direct current projects, power consulting, power quality solutions, semiconductors, and many other exciting offerings in North America, and we need a strong strategic leader to be a part of this exciting journey. In this role, you'll be responsible for contributing to the transformation of Hitachi Energy solutions in Grid Integration Business Unit and driving growth through first class engineering activities. This position requires close collaboration and alignment with our global center of competence engineering center, functional departments, and other business units, to execute the regional center of engineering competence in North America.

Your Responsibilities:

Grid & Power Quality Solutions are hiring a Localization Program Manager for the Power Quality (FACTS) Business with focus to create and imbed a regional center of competence of engineering center for North America's future growth and success. In this role you will lead localization projects and work both locally and globally with different stakeholders from the business. You will report directly to the Global Head of GPQSS Engineering and work in a team that have a passion for innovation and technology. Your Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate localization efforts in line with the global engineering strategy.
  • Develop in co-ordination with the Head of Engineering for North America, a detailed plan for implementing a regional center of competence for engineering North America, based on the needs identified in the business case.
  • Lead the discovery, review, and alignment of initiatives to strategic objectives through the prioritization process.
  • Develop and implement change management strategies to support the successful implementation of the localization plan.
  • Roll out localization tasks to the different functions and drive the adoption including following-up on agreed actions
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and develop transformation plans to drive organizational change.
  • Maintains relationships and ensure efficient workflows in global organization
  • Monitor and measure the progress and impact of the localization initiatives, providing regular updates and reports to stakeholder.
  • Identify and mitigate risks and obstacles that may impede the success of localization plan.
  • Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to team members involved in localization.
  • Develop and establish a local Functional System Testing lab for validation and acceptance testing of Power Quality Control Systems, including but not limited to identifying location, build-out of lab facility and staffing up, utilizing lessons learned from other global lab setups.

Your Background:

  • Strong knowledge of business processes, change management methodologies, and project management principles.
  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and implementing business transformation initiatives.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to identify and address complex business challenges.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment and build strong relationships with team members and stakeholders.
  • Continuous learning mindset, with a passion for staying updated with industry trends and best practices.
  • MSc in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of power quality a plus.
