Position Summary:

Moraine Park Technical College is seeking a full-time Housekeeper in the evenings on our Fond du Lac Campus. The Housekeeper performs various custodial duties to uphold the standard levels of cleanliness for all the College's owned and leased properties. In addition, a 3% wage shift differential is provided for hours worked after 6:00 p.m.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of a high school diploma (or equivalent) and a minimum of one year of housekeeping or customer service experience. If you have prior experience with cleaning methods, materials and/or equipment, that would be great!

Responsibilities:

    Vacuum, sweep, dust, and clean classrooms, offices, labs, corridors, and shops. Clean table tops, desks, blackboards, glass, and countertops. Empty and clean wastepaper baskets, and pencil sharpeners.
  • Clean restrooms, sinks, toilets, mirrors, partitions, and water fountains. Refill soap and paper dispensers.
  • Operate cleaning equipment to scrub, wax, buff floors, shampoo carpeting, and clean furniture.
  • Stock housekeeping closets and notify the supervisor when supply items need to be reordered.
  • Straighten, move and arrange furniture. Provide extra furniture as needed.
  • Resolve immediate customer problems such as locating rooms, opening doors, and referring to other Facilities employees for assistance as necessary.
  • Identify problems and notify your supervisor of equipment and facilities needing repairs and/or replacement.
  • Perform building security functions as required. Remove snow from sidewalks.
  • Identify and dispose of recyclable materials, hazardous waste, and contaminated materials according to District procedure and safety guidelines.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of software applications, including Microsoft Office 365 (Office Suite, Teams, SharePoint, etc.).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate clearly and effectively with end users, colleagues, and management to provide a complete and timely explanation of issues and decisions to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to take initiative, work independently with little supervision and make sound decisions with minimal direction.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritize special projects with routine assignments.

Hiring Range: $16.02-$18.85 (Pending board approval)

Starting: Immediately

Hours/Schedule/Travel: Academic hours: Monday through Thursday 2:30 - 11:00 p.m. and Friday 12:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. (40 hours/wk), Summer hours: Monday - Thursday: 1:30 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. (36 hours/wk)
