AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking anAccount Summer Intern!

This a part time internship (approximately 20 hours/week) throughout Summer 2024. The internship will be part time in Chantilly and part time virtual.

As the Accounting Intern, you will:

• Join an engaged employee-owned company.
• Grow your knowledge and skills.
• Receive mentorship for professional development.

A week in the life of the Accounting Intern includes:

• Assist with accounting functions to include but not limited to, clerical and administrative support in the following areas:
  • General ledger Input
  • General ledger account reconciliation
  • JV accounting,
  • Cash management (check deposits / payment application).
  • Payroll processing
  • Compile a database of proposal profit proposed vs. actual execution.

• Completion of 2 years of undergraduate studies.
• 0-1 year of related experience
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Hands on experience with an accounting software
• Strong math skills
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
