Job Description

Performance Health is seeking a Manufacturing Project Engineer to join our team in Akron, OH. In this role, you will be responsible for development, planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of the manufacturing of products within area of assigned responsibility by performing the following duties.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Upgrade equipment using current technologies, engineering and by fabricating parts utilizing shop equipment. (Mill, Lathe, Surface Grinder, Mig / Tig Welder, Drill Press, various saws)
  • Responsible for assistance of installation of new equipment, light duty wiring and troubleshooting.
  • Design and lead integration of new technology into existing equipment to streamline the process and increase the overall output efficiency.
  • Identifies and resolves problems related to current manufacturing processes.
  • Manage project tasks, activities, and repairs to meet project schedules and budget.
  • Develops and maintains project design control, technical documentation, schematics, and drawings. (Follows established procedures in MasterControl system.)
  • Collaborate with the engineering department to assist in developing IQ, OQ and PQs for new or modified equipment.
  • Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.
  • Provide training to other engineers and maintenance personnel to successfully transfer equipment into production.
  • Selects materials and components that are most effective and cost efficient to keep the company at a competitive edge.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
  • 3-5 years of engineering experience working in a manufacturing environment including experience in machine build and PLC programming
  • Extrusion Manufacturing experience a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and AutoCAD
  • Competence in machinery control logic
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems quickly
  • General understanding of process instrumentation and controllers
  • Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds

  • This is a full-time position with a base salary range of $90,000-$105,000 plus benefits.
