  • Position Summary
    • Under minimal supervision and according to established policies and procedures operates electroneurodiagnostic equipment to measure neural potentials for use by physicians in diagnosing neurological outcomes.
    • Responsible for collection of EEG data for routine EEGs, Interventional Radiology, Evoked Potentials, Continuous EEG, long term epilepsy monitoring in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
    • License/Certification: Graduate of a CAAHEP Accredited Neurodiagnostic Technology Program and/or registered as a R.EEG T, R.EPT CNIM, or CLTM by ABRET. Certified in Basic Life Support by the American Heart Association (may be obtained within 6 months of hire date)
    • Experience: One year of experience in Neurodiagnosic field. Individuals with Associates Degree and/or other allied health experience and credentials may be considered at manager's/medical director's discretion. These individuals would also be expected to obtain R.EEG.T credential within 1 year of employment.
    • Must have basic computer literacy and be able to collaborate with IT and clinical engineering to resolve IT issues.
    • Individual is proficient in in both Routine END monitoring and recording as well as LTM by documenting that they have observed 20 cases and performed 20 cases while being observed.
    • Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interact with seriously ill or agitated patients.
    • Skill in using EEG equipment in line with safety, infection control and quality protocols.
    • Ability to review, clip, store continuous EEG, ambulatory EEG, and EMU studies in accordance with department protocols.
    • Level II Technologists required to complete 10 CEU's per year to maintain position.
