Working as a QCS Systems Engineer, you will be the support person for various Process Automation Process Industries Pulp & Paper engineering projects providing technical details, costs and deliverables for sales proposals. In this role, you will be focusing primarily on implementation of ABB Quality Control Systems in the Paper Industry with an emphasis on control tuning, operator training, results documentation and Sales Support.

Your responsibilities

  • Sales Support: Collect data from ABB and competitive systems for performance guarantee development
  • Provide process control expertise during QCS order pursuit
  • Develop performance guarantees for proposed Quality Control Systems
  • Planning and Schedule Management: Ensure direct manager is current on all scheduled project activities
  • Develop Systems Engineering Plan for all projects when lead role is assigned
  • Manage Systems Engineering team for site coverage when lead role is assigned
  • Support Project Manager with overall project plan
  • Project Execution: Support integration test of systems during internal "One hundred Percent Test"
  • Support Factory Acceptance Test with Customer, if included in project
  • Provide feedback to project team during design phase of projects
  • Develop software and graphic specials to meet project scope
  • Operator Training: Develop training material both general and specific to project requirements
  • Develop operator training schedule as part of overall Systems Engineering Plan
  • Deliver effective operator training, may include classroom and hand on sessions
  • Results Delivery: Ensure all control features are tuned and optimized
  • Collect data and review results versus performance objectives
  • If performance guarantees are being met, develop and present formal results per the contract; if not being met, work with the Project Manager on plan forward
  • Customer Satisfaction: Provide Technical lead of project activities during the start-up, optimization and results stage of the project
  • Ensure Customer feedback is communicated to Project Manager
  • Present single ABB to the Customer
Your background

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required. Paper Science or related field preferred and minimum 2 years of industrial/related experience required
  • Fluent in written and verbal English
  • Strong leadership and communications skills
  • Self starter
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
