The salary range for this role is:

$62,986.56 - $103,906.40

Responsibilities:

This role can be remote in the following states: AR, CA, CO, FL, GA, IL, IN, MA, MI, MN, NE, NV, NJ, NC, SC, OH, OR, PA, TN, TX, VA, WA, WI.

The Benefits Specialist is responsible for service delivery related to health and welfare benefits plans, including day-to-day administration, communication, reporting and vendor management, working with the Benefits team on design, implementation and legal compliance for benefit programs, and special projects and data analysis.

  • Provide ongoing recommendations for improving and managing existing programs and to assist the Benefits Manager in maintaining the company's competitive position in the market.
  • Coordinate planning and administration of the annual U.S. Open Enrollment process and year-end processes.
  • Develop and improve with the assistance of HRIS, new analytic reports to help identify cost drivers, improvement opportunities and actions to help team make decisions.
  • Participate in the analysis and the determination of benefit data integrity, plan costs, contract costs, contribution rates, working with consultants and management teams. Initiate or respond to requests to perform specific data analytic projects.
  • Day to day benefit administration:
    • Regular data review and audit.
    • Invoice payments.
    • Document billing process changes.
    • Create new vendors for billing.
    • Oversight of commuter and COBRA plan administration
    • Partner with HRIS team to troubleshoot carrier file feed issues.
    • Month end reports to accounting.
    • Support on compliance activities.
    • Wellness program support.
  • Assist Benefits Manager with special projects i.e. Dependent Verification Audit backup, Reporting within HCM Workday).
  • Review and update Benefits documents including Summary Plan Descriptions.
  • Support and serve as back-up for retirement and compensation teams.
  • Develop Benefits and Wellness Communications.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience administering benefits programs.
  • At least 2 years of experience in data analysis and reporting.
  • Knowledge of benefits plan design and administration.
  • Knowledge of Leave programs
  • Experience with regulatory compliance in benefits programs.
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel, Word, and Power Point.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Functional understanding of HRIS/Benefits design, structure, and processes.
