Who we are looking for:

We are currently searching for a Maintenance Manager to be based out of Louisville, KY. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this person will be responsible for managing the maintenance department, staff and the operations for the entire facility.

What you'll do

  • Provide supervision and leadership to plant maintenance employees.
  • Monitor the use and inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment and coordinate or initiate reordering when necessary.
  • Ensure operating/training manuals are up to date and used for training employees.
  • Enter maintenance related data into systems as needed/appropriate.
  • Oversee maintenance functions with a drive to eliminate repetitive issues by developing personnel and using metrics to help make decisions.
  • Minimize breakdowns or disruptions in the production processes by developing a preventative maintenance and inspection list and schedule.
  • Participate in Lean Manufacturing activities and promote the plant Lean culture.
  • Coordinate and/or perform inspection of building and equipment as required by regulatory agencies.
  • Be a leader in safety, and enforce company policy in regard to EH&S and Lean Initiatives
  • Create and adhere to departmental budgets.
  • Lead maintenance transformation from a "break / fix" culture to a reliability-based maintenance culture
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What you'll bring:

  • Associates or technical degree and 10 years of maintenance related experience and/or training in the field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience; Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred.
  • Experience in tubing/pipe environment or similar heavy manufacturing environment, along with supervisory experience preferred.
  • Must have strong Mechanical and Electrical skillsets.
  • Ability to read and create electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Ability to use CAD as well as Microsoft office suite such as excel, word, power point.
  • General PLC programming knowledge.
  • Understanding of basic machine shop tools as well as welding and metal fabrication.
  • Familiar with electric code requirements.
  • Experience with installation of machinery and equipment as well as dis-assembly.
  • Good understanding of basic math required for quick and accurate counting and calculations.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, time management, and organization.
  • Effective leadership skills and problem-solving techniques. Great interpersonal skills with a strong ability to communicate both positive and negative messages.
  • Must be adaptable to changes in the work environment, comfortable with multiple competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events in a calm and logical manner.

Within 3 months, you'll:

  • Complete any required training.
  • Have developed relationships with the key stakeholders for this role.
  • Be well-versed in Atkore's Business System and the importance of your role to daily operations.

Within 6-months, you'll:

  • Update training materials and procedures.
  • Partner with Safety and HR to investigate and provide corrective measures for on-the-job accidents, injuries, production issues, and HR issues.
  • Identify ways to strengthen the team's commitment to Atkore's core values of Accountability, Teamwork, Integrity, Respect and Excellence.

Within 12-months, you'll:

  • Be managing an efficient team that delivers Atkore's strategy.
  • Create and update reports, training materials and documentation.
  • Have meaningful performance conversations with your direct reports.
  • Be able to resolve any issues quickly and safely.
