Job Description

Clean Water Testing is a state certified laboratory. We provide testing services to customers across Wisconsin. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to assist our certified well and septic inspectors in the field to become an inspector themselves. We are looking for someone who is hardworking, enjoys talking with people & likes to work outside.

Primary Function

Property Transfer Field Inspections of water wells and septic systems for code compliance and function. Water sample collection of private and public well systems. Communicate with managers, other team members, office staff and lab personnel. Generate reports and paperwork necessary for the property transfer process.

Responsibilities
  • Perform visual inspections of well and septic systems for real estate transfers.
  • Perform diagnostic tests to evaluate the function of the well and septic systems.
  • Write reports of the results of each inspection for each customer.
  • Answer questions asked by customers and agents regarding the results of inspection and water tests.
  • Complete sampling procedure requirements for assigned public water systems.
  • Acquire continuing education credits as necessary to renew licenses to inspect well and septic systems and operate public water systems.
  • Perform correct water sampling procedures.
  • Perform soil borings to verify code compliant soils for existing systems as required by county zoning departments as part of real estate transfer inspections.
  • Maintain equipment, tools and supplies.

Qualifications
  • High school or technical school education, or equivalent.
  • Quality experience in the trades associated with well and septic systems preferred.
  • Ability to obtain the following licenses within the first 12 months of hire - WI DNR Well Pump installers license, WI DNR small water system certified operator license, WI Dept Of Commerce POWTs inspector license and DNR Small Systems Operator Certification.
  • Valid driver's license
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Strong knowledge of well, water and septic system construction and principles of operation.
  • Ability to work efficiently and maintain a schedule.
  • Excellent ability to work independently in the field.
  • Ability to read, interpret and communicate state code requirements.
  • Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work well and communicate with a team.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and online GIS programs.
  • Ability to lift up to 100lbs on occasion.
