Job/Internship Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This is an internship position with the possibility to grow within the company and towards an A&D outsides sales position.

Main Duties:

  • Will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations at the Chicago Showroom and also assist walk-in customers.
  • Work with local managers and the marketing department in Miami in the coordination of regular events in the showroom for the A&D community
  • Will be assigned to certain A&D accounts to manage, which will require follow-up calls, review of current specifications and orders, assisting with product questions, sampling, etc.

Other Duties:

  • Generate new and repeat sales by providing product and technical information in a timely manner
  • Determine customer requirements and expectations in order to recommend specific products and solutions
  • Recommend alternate products based on cost, availability or specifications
  • Proactively recommend items needed by customers to increase customer satisfaction and improve transaction profitability
  • Increase sales and average order size by means of cross-selling, up-selling, add-on sales and offering promotional sale items.
  • Keep the CRM updated on existing accounts or if any new account is created (contacts, customer visit report, etc.)
  • Make sure that any new specification or project is registered in our CRM
  • Educate customers about terminology, features and benefits of products in order to improve product related sales and customer satisfaction
  • Provide accurate information regarding pricing and availability
  • Fill requests for catalogs, information or samples
  • Obtain accurate information from customer service or logistics in regards to shipment dates and expected date of delivery.
  • Monitor scheduled shipment dates to ensure timely delivery and expedite as needed
  • Contact customers following sales to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction and resolve any complaint
  • Remain current on consumer preferences, changes in local codes and product developments by attending sales meetings, vendor training and trade shows, or reading trade journals
  • Identify trends in customer satisfaction or dissatisfaction
  • Communicate to management unexpected increases or decreases in demand for products
  • Manage time effectively, meet personal goals and work effectively with other members of the team
  • Maintain proficiency in using personal computer, data entry terminal and other common office equipment and software
  • Follow company policies and procedures
  • Present a professional image at all times to customers and vendors
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Fluent English, basic writing and reporting skills
  • Spanish is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, & Excel
