THIS ROLE IS LOCATED AT CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS IN KINGSPORT, TN

We are seeking a candidate with knowledge and skills in industrial and regulatory eco-toxicology functions. The candidate would work within the corporate Product Stewardship and Regulatory Affairs organization in close coordination with business and technology managers, product stewards, and product registration/clearance and hazard communications personnel to support existing products, and development and commercialization of new products.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and oversee ecotoxicological, environmental fate, and associated phys-chem testing projects with 3rd party laboratories globally
  • Perform computational modeling (e.g., QSAR Toolbox, EPI Suite, AIM, VEGA)
  • Analyze and interpret test results
  • Perform risk/safety assessments
  • Develop and execute product defense strategies
  • Support for global chemical registrations such as TSCA, REACH, FIFRA, etc.
  • An internal toxicology expert to the innovation R&D team, hazard communication group, product stewardship initiatives, regulatory dossier preparation, customer correspondence, trade association panel participation
  • Mentor and train other team members on new toxicology or regulatory developments
  • Participation in industry consortia addressing toxicology and risk characterization of chemical

Education and Additional Skills:

  • PhD in Toxicology, Environmental Health Sciences, or related biological science discipline PLUS 4+ years of chemical or industrial ecotoxicology experience (or a master's degree with 6+ years of relevant experience). Relevant ecotoxicology experience is a must.
  • Knowledge and experience in regulatory and data requirements for global new chemical notification dossiers
  • Experience in conducting computation modeling to estimate hazard endpoints
  • Proven success in designing, monitoring and interpreting data from regulatory guideline based toxicological studies (EPA, OECD, etc.)
  • Knowledge of international risk assessment models and ability to perform or work with team members to conduct risk assessments
  • Knowledge and expertise in interrupting ecotox, environmental fate, and phys-chem endpoints for applying international hazard classifications (GHS, CLP, IMO, etc.)
  • Knowledge in emerging toxicological and risk assessment technologies such as high throughput in vitro testing, computational toxicology, exposure modeling, endocrine disruption testing, etc.
  • Knowledge of human health toxicology and DABT certification is a plus.
